Dubai Community Health Centre offers professional marriage and couple therapy. Our team of licensed, trained and experienced therapists can help you and your partner to enjoy a healthier, stronger, and happier relationship.
What our marriage therapy programme offers
An experienced therapist from our team of experts will meet with you and your spouse to discuss your current concerns and any difficulties that you are facing. These may be external factors (e.g., financial issues or bereavement) and/or internal factors (such as communication problems). After being in a relationship for a while, couples may become overfamiliar with their partners, making it easy to fall into the habit of not listening to the other person or ineffectively communicating your needs. It can be helpful to talk to someone who does not have any relation with you, or your partner, as they can provide an objective, professional view of your situation. They also have the skills and training to guide you through your problems. The therapist is not there to judge or criticise. They can, however, offer a confidential space where you can explore your feelings openly. They can help to keep things calm and constructive and offer support to both the partners without taking sides.
Though every couple is unique in their own way, common areas we help couples with are:
What can you expect from our counselling services?
Our marriage-counselling services include support, education, therapy, and activities that are intended to help you and your partner work on your issues and achieve a better relationship. You may be taught skills and techniques that you will be asked to practice at home. You can both talk about any challenges you came up against and how to overcome them. Typically, we offer 90 minute sessions for couples to ensure everyone’s views can be shared and listened to. The frequency of appointments will depend on your individual needs and commitments.
When is the ideal time for couples to see a therapist?
Some couples view marital therapy as the last option to save their relationship. However, you do not have to wait until things get worse before trying couples therapy. Many couples benefit from coming to therapy as it helps keep their relationship happy and healthy, and it allows them to resolve any issue before it becomes a conflict in the future. If you are concerned about your relationship for whatever reason and are unable to find a solution, then couples therapy could be beneficial to you. If you feel unsure you can give us a call and speak to one of our experts.
